USSF Youth Certificate Courses:
USSF Youth Certificate Courses: The beginning coaching modules comprise two courses of three-and-one-half to four-hours each for beginning coaches. The first course is for coaches of players aged U5-U8 and the second course is for coaches of players U8-U10 years, with a limited introduction to U12. Field sessions emphasize activities that are age appropriate training techniques for young players. Lecture topics include an overview of the psychology of young players, coaching methods, team management, care and prevention of injuries and basic laws of the game for modified soccer. Course objectives include developing activities to encourage player fun, enjoyment and participation. Candidates are not graded on playing and demonstration ability but participation in field sessions is strongly encouraged. Bring water, proper footwear and soccer ball. Minimum of 12 candidates required for each course. Includes workbooks and text.

USSF E License Course:
USSF E License Course: This is an 18-hour course for all coaches of 11-a-side soccer. The course is most oriented towards U12-U14 players. This course is the prerequisite for entrance into the D Course. Field sessions emphasize technical training on dribbling, passing, receiving, goalkeeping, heading and finishing. An introduction to defensive and offensive tactics is also included. Course objectives include team training activities, the proper teaching progression and development of the individual player. Lecture topics on Laws of the Game, team management, care and prevention of injuries and session planning are included. A written take-home test on Laws of the Game, first aid and safety, and a field practicum are required for completion.
Candidates are not graded on playing and demonstration ability, but participation in field sessions is expected, though not required. Bring water, proper footwear and soccer ball. Minimum of 12 candidates required for each course. Candidates should be coaching players aged U10 or above. Includes manual. $75.00 Attendance deposit required.

USSF D License Course:
USSF D License Course: This 39-hour course is designed for all coaches of competitive league teams or traveling teams, U13 and above. Includes lectures on more advanced coaching topics including theory of tactics, sports medicine, psychology, principles of defense and offense, and match analysis. Field sessions include technical and tactical training activities, emphasizing small group tactics. Coaches who take the D clinic are awarded an E/D Certificate, a State D License or a National D License, based upon their final grades. Candidates are graded on a written take-home test over the Laws of the Game and the care and prevention of injuries, an in-class video Match Analysis and Session Plan and an on-field practicum in an assigned coaching topic. In order to take the National C Licensure Course, a coach must have obtained a National D License. The State D or National D License is required by USYSNV for any head coach intent on entering his or her team into the Snickers State Cup. Candidates are not graded on playing and demonstration ability, but participation in field sessions is expected, though not required. Bring water, proper footwear and soccer ball.

Applications must be received at least one-week in advance of courses. All courses are subject to a minimum number of applicants. Locations will be confirmed and posted on web site. Candidates will be notified. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Licenses will not be issued to persons missing any part of the course. A refundable $75 deposit is required with application for all E and D candidates to reserve space.
